Description
Joie de Vivre is currently searching for a talented Food and Beverage Marketing Manager . This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starting, creative, and savvy restaurant and hospitality marketing candidate. The F & B marketing manager is responsible for working with the Food and Beverage, Marketing, and PR team on marketing strategy, public relations, promotions, and special events for restaurants/bars and hotel catering at multiple properties, and for the Joie de Vivre brand. This position will work in partnership with the Marketing and PR teams to build the Joie de Vivre Restaurants brand while maintaining focus on several specific restaurant marketing plans. The F&B marketing manager will collaborate on the strategy development and lead the tactical implementation of marketing, public relations, social media efforts, online marketing and website marketing for food and beverage.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
Essential:
* Previous experience in marketing and/or public relations (2+ years), preferably in the food industry.
* Restaurant industry related experience, preferably in non-chain/uniquely concepted establishments in the Bay Area, SoCal or other major metropolitan areas (2-3 years)
* Detail orientation with a proclivity for action and execution.
* Ability to analyze market research, current market conditions, and competitor information?
· Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with minimum supervision.
* Good basic math skills and ability to manage budgets.
* Ability to make reasoned business decisions, balancing several financial and strategic variables
* Ability to work with ambiguity and seek/drive to find clarity and direction forward from multiple stakeholders
* Excellent interpersonal skills with high-end customers, peers, supervisors and suppliers and working in team environments
* Strong computer knowledge in Windows environment, including Excel, Powerpoint, Word and Outlook.
* Experience in social media and with website/online marketing in the restaurant and F&B arena, locally and regionally throughout California and nationally (e.g. OpenTable, Yelp!, etc.)
* Excellent negotiating skills.
* Flexibility and adaptability to effectively handle stress and matriculate in a fast-paced, frequently-changing environment
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities simultaneously?
* A passion for food, wine, beverages, catering/entertaining and the food/restaurant industry in general and California!
Desirable:
* Experience with Micros POS systems.
* College degree.
* Ability to communicate in a second language, Spanish preferred.
* Experience with database management /CRM systems
* Knowledge of travel industry, current market trends and economic factors.
* Experience in working with in-house creative services agency
Essential Job Functions:
* Design, implement and manage marketing plans to achieve sales goals, reinforce the distinctiveness in the marketplace of each individual property and build brand awareness
* Oversee the development, management and execution of various marketing programs, promotions, and initiatives via web sites, email, search, direct mail, print and other marketing channels.
* Assist in development, management, and execution of marketing plans and budgets. Provide forecasts and updates on program performance as necessary.
* Directly support the F&B and Sales teams in lead generation, including online and trade show support. Develop and implement a comprehensive sales and marketing collateral strategy.
* Review and analyze all available data in forming strategic and tactical recommendations.
* Assist and lead in agency and vendor management.
* Increase online sales and profits by building brand awareness, generating site traffic and encouraging web direct bookings. Manage web content development and make relevant updates.
* Information gathering for and creation of press releases. Work with agency if/as necessary to create packages and other promotional opportunities. Work with JdV PR or agency to coordinate media visits.
* Represent JdV Restaurants/F&B at community or other related events.
* Stay abreast of the latest changes in online marketing, SEM, SEO, SMO and execute a plan with Marketing team to adapt to those changes.
* Work with Creative Services to manage restaurant image library and ensure all images are current (website, other internet sites, collateral, etc).
* Track advertising/marketing spend for ROI and approve invoices. Ensure invoices are properly audited and paid in a timely manner and accruals are given to Finance monthly.
* Create, organize and execute special events?
* Provide applicable reporting on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis as necessary.
* Manage and participate with social media/internet communities, including blogs, message boards, email discussion groups, and live chats to generate exposure, opportunity and sales. Develop ideas for generating awareness through social media, online communities and community websites. Devise and implement campaigns, that leverage social media to extend word-of-mouth. Define and track performance metrics on campaigns & report on them on a monthly basis.
* Manage website and e-marketing relationships for JdV with applicable vendors.
* Assist F & B leadership on various projects, assignments and long-range strategic planning including identifying marketing/PR strategies and tactics for the annual business plan.
* Proofing and editing of copy or ads/other marketing materials.
* Work with Creative Services for inventory management of all collateral for sales and marketing to ensure reorders are done in a timely manner. ·
* Have command of all programs, promotions and services of Joie de Vivre, and those of its primary competitors.
