Position Description: Position Overview:
As leading non-for-profit science center in the world, the Liberty Science Center has an opening for Sr. Brand Manager at its Headquarters Office in Jersey City, NJ. This role will be instrumental in developing brand strategy and marketing planning, guiding the communications and promotional efforts, recommending and implementing market research studies, developing tracking systems and pricing strategy and advancing the overall mission of the Liberty Science Center.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
Establish and Maintain a Liberty Science Center brand image consistent with its mission and offerings
1) Guide advertising and promotional efforts and effectively market the Liberty Science Center Brand.
2) Guide and coordinate market research efforts and provide insights to further strategic and tactical work.
3) Work in conjunction with VP marketing to develop the brand strategy.
4) Collaborate with development and learning/teaching to develop marketing programs that will yield increases in customer attendance.
5) Collaborate with CRM function and communications group to identify key marketing requirements, constantly improve the messaging and targeting to our core audience.
6) Determine the most effective points of interaction for marketing campaigns by using metrics and analytics from the customer information system and market insight studies to achieve incremental sales and awareness goals.
7) Manage the various supported marketing and sales initiatives to achieve stated sales results at the lowest possible cost.
Other Tasks:
Manage the marketing budget and expenditures process
1) Ensure that all marketing communications (advertising and promotional) achieve budgets and the results are reported in a timely and consistent fashion.
2) Opportunity to manage a more junior brand manager.
3) Develop tracking process for internal communication of progress toward mission and functional goals. (i.e., awareness tracking, image tracking etc.)
Requirements/Experience/Qualifications:
- At least 5 years experience as a brand manager (at least 2 years with a for-profit organization.)
- Experience in developing advertising and promotional campaigns including media placement.
- Experience in helping guide market research undertakings.
- A proven track record of exceeding goals and achieving ROI objectives, influencing management.
- Analytic and conceptual thinking skills with a results oriented style.
- Very strong project management skills. Strong verbal and written skills. Solid PC skills required.
Education:
Bachelors degree in Marketing, or Business or quantitative field. MBA or equivalent a plus.
